Tie Dye Seashells

Level of difficulty:  Beginner

Here’s a groovy way to add some color to your seashell collection. A fun craft for kids to make beautiful décor pieces that will brighten up any room!

What You'll Need:

  • Crafter’s Closet Iridescent Glitter
  • Baked with Love Pastel Food Coloring
  • Crafter's Closet Paint Brush
  • Toothpicks
  • Crafter’s Closet Tacky Glue
  • Bowl
  • Paper Towels
  • Seashells

Let's Do This!

 

Step 1:

  1. Spray shaving cream into a shallow bowl or cooking dish.
  2. Use a spatula or spoon to evenly distribute the shaving cream along the bottom of the dish.

 

Step 2:

  1. Drip dots of food coloring onto the shaving cream.
  2. Drag a toothpick through the colors, mixing them into the shaving cream.

 

Step 3:

  1. Press the front of the seashells into the shaving cream. Set onto paper towels. Tip: Wear gloves to avoid getting food coloring on your hands.

 

Step 4:

  1. Carefully dab off shaving cream with a paper towel. The colors will be left behind. Let dry.

 

Step 5:

  1. Coat the edges of the shells with tacky glue. Tip: Use a paintbrush for an even application.
  2. Apply glitter to glue areas. Shake off excess glitter. Let dry.
